Alpha2EQ®

Creative Science Product #: EQ-15-Z

Product Description

Alpha2EQ® is a cutting-edge orthobiologic solution designed to support equine joint health by harnessing the power of Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (α2M) - a naturally occurring glycoprotein with potent anti-inflammatory and cartilage-protective properties. Available in two convenient kit sizes (30 mL and 15 mL), Alpha2EQ® delivers targeted intra-articular supplementation of α2M to help mitigate the progression of osteoarthritis and support recovery from joint trauma.

How to Purchase
  • Alpha2EQ® -30 Kit: Includes materials to process and deliver 30 mL of α2M-rich product.
  • Alpha2EQ® -15 Kit: Includes materials to process and deliver 15 mL of α2M-rich product.
  • Designed for use in equine patients.
  • Supports joint health by inhibiting cartilage-degrading enzymes and modulating inflammatory cytokines.
  • Backed by scientific research demonstrating α2M's ability to suppress catabolic gene expression and promote anabolic repair pathways
Active Component: Alpha-2-Macroglobulin (α2M)

Mechanism of Action:
  • Inhibits matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and ADAMTS enzymes responsible for cartilage degradation.
  • Binds and neutralizes pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNFα.
  • Promotes upregulation of anabolic genes (e.g., Col2a1, Acan) and downregulation of catabolic genes (e.g., MMP3, MMP13)
Kit Sizes: 30 mL and 15 mL final product yield.
1. Fill two 60 mL syringes each with 5 mL ACD-A. Draw 35 mL of blood to a total volume of 40 mL per syringe.
2. Open the kit and use the red blunt tip needles to transfer the blood into the vacutainer tubes.
3. Place vacutainer tubes in the red swing buckets and spin for 10 minutes at 3400 RPM.
4. Draw out the plasma with the vacutainer device/syringe, then remove the device from the syringe and replace with one of the 3.5-inch aspirate needles.
5. Fill the conical tubes to the 20 mL line right under the cap. Avoid touching the filter with the needle.
6. Place both conical tubes in the purple swing buckets, with the black spacers at the bottom, and spin for 10 minutes at 3400 RPM.
7. Use the last syringe and aspirate needle to draw out the product. Avoid touching the filter with the needle. Transfer final product to syringes for use or storage.
