Estimated 0 min read
Texas Tech University's School of Veterinary Medicine, in collaboration with the Society for Theriogenology and the Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (SCAAEP), hosted an engaging and educational wet lab for veterinary students in November 2024. Creative Science was proud to be one of the sponsors of this event that brought together first, second, and third-year veterinary students for a unique opportunity to build practical skills in mare management.
Hands-On Learning for the Next Generation
The wet lab focused on essential techniques in equine reproductive management, including artificial insemination and obtaining uterine cytologies. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, students learned the intricacies of handling and managing mares, a cornerstone of equine veterinary practice.
The wet lab provided an invaluable platform for students to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. By practicing these procedures in a controlled environment, participants gained confidence and hands-on experience that will serve them well in their future careers.
