VetMotl Sperm Separation Device

Creative Science Product #: 25810-Z

Product Description

VetMotl Sperm Separation Devices separate healthy, motile equine sperm from non-motile sperm. VetMotl helps improve viable embryos and optimizes fertility procedures. VetMotl prepares motile sperm from semen for use in equine reproduction procedures such as artificial insemination (AI), in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Can also be used for embryo transfers (ET). The VetMotl 850 uL device accepts 850uL of equine semen sample input and yields 500uL of output volume for downstream use. VetMotl devices separate sperm based on motility.

VetMotl devices can be used with fresh and frozen sample types: normal, low count, low motility (some motility is required), viscous, low volume, and a combination of the above. This first-of-its-kind lab tool is a 30-minute process that is effective and simple to adopt. Ready to use. Fewer movements per sample - reduced potential for error. Improved protocol compliance. Increased productivity. The VetMotl device is a sterile product for single use only.

Instructions: The VetMotl Sperm Separation Devices have three major features: a sample inlet port, a sample outlet port/concentration chamber and a membrane filter. A diluted raw semen sample is injected into the inlet port. The sample travels into the lower portion of the device, underneath a membrane filter that has micropores. Fertilization media is placed on top of the membrane. During incubation, progressively motile sperm migrate through the pores into the fresh media above. They leave behind the less motile, morphologically abnormal sperm. What is collected from above the membrane are healthy, motile sperm.

When using a frozen sample, follow industry-recommended instructions on thawing the straw. Dilute the sample 1:1 with wash media. Mix gently by tapping the tube/vial and inject this diluted sample into the VetMotl device in the same manner as a fresh sample. Please see the Instructions for Use or ask us for more details.

Since a heat source is necessary, it's recommended that VetMotl devices be incubated for 30 minutes.
For equine (850ul) and bovine (3 ml) use.
